Bangladesh is the first to send peacekeepers

 With the deployment of 6,731 peacekeepers, Bangladesh has once again become the first country to send peacekeepers to UN peacekeeping missions.


Meanwhile, the Army Major General. Main Ullah Chowdhury has been elected Deputy Force Commander of the Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan. ISPR said this in a separate notification yesterday.



According to a press release issued by ISPR, Bangladesh took the first place on July 17 by deploying a QRF (Quick Re-Action Force) of 160 manpower to the Central African Republic.


At present, there are 119 countries sending troops to peacekeeping missions. Bangladesh has deployed a total of 8,731 peacekeepers.

Ethiopia is in second place after Bangladesh with 6,72 peacekeepers deployed.


India ranks fifth and sixth in the subcontinent with 5,353 peacekeepers and Pakistan with 4,440 peacekeepers.
