রোহিঙ্গা শিশুদের আশ্রয় ও শিক্ষার সুযোগ দেয়ায় জাতিসংঘের শিশু তহবিল ইউনিসেফের হয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়েছেন সংস্থাটির শুভেচ্ছা দূত প্রিয়াঙ্কা চোপড়া।


বৃহস্পতিবার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সরকারি বাসভবন গণভবনে শেখ হাসিনার সঙ্গে দেখা করে এ কৃতজ্ঞতা জানান প্রিয়াঙ্কা। এ সময় রোহিঙ্গা শিশুদের জন্য সোচ্চার হতে জাতিসংঘের হয়ে বিশ্ববাসীর প্রতি আবেদন রেখে প্রিয়াঙ্কা বলেন, বিশ্বের কোনো শিশুরই যেন রোহিঙ্গা শিশুদের মতো অবস্থা না হয়।

কক্সবাজারে রোহিঙ্গা আশ্রয়কেন্দ্রগুলো থেকে ফিরে গণভবনে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে দেখা করে নিজের এ বার্তা দেন বলিউড অভিনেত্রী ও শিশু অধিকারে আন্তর্জাতিক খ্যাতিমান কর্মী প্রিয়াঙ্কা চোপড়া।


এ সময় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, মিয়ানমারের ১২ লক্ষাধিক রোহিঙ্গার মানবেতর জীবনযাপনে বাংলাদেশের মাটিতে প্রতিদিন গড়ে ৬০ রোহিঙ্গা শিশুর জন্মের মতো জটিল সংকট নিরসনে বিশ্ববাসীর জোরালো অবস্থান প্রয়োজন।


বাংলাদেশে ৪ দিনের সফর শেষে আজই ঢাকা ছাড়বেন প্রিয়াঙ্কা।
