If the school does not open before December, ‘Auto’ promotion in sixth class

 If it is not possible to open the school before December due to the Corona epidemic situation, then the students of the fifth grade primary school will get up in the sixth grade, said the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Akram-al-Hussein.

He told reporters at his office in the secretariat on Tuesday. The secretary also said that there is no possibility of opening the school until the situation in Corona becomes normal.

The secretary said if the Corona situation is normal and the government thinks that the children are safe now, there will be no problem if they go to school, then the school will open. And if it is not possible to open a school, the headmaster of that school will give a certificate for the promotion of the fifth grade students of the primary to the sixth grade.

If it is not possible to open the school this year, the secretary told reporters about giving 'auto pass', only time will tell. Even if the school does not open, the children will have to take the next step (in class).

"If we get a chance to open the school, we have two approved lesson plans in October and November," he said. If we can implement that, then the end date of our limit is 20th December. One is 52 days and the other is 40 days. If we can open it in October, it will be the same, and if we can open it in November, we will get 40 days.

The secretary said 35 per cent of the lesson plans have already been completed by March 16, adding that the same lesson plans are now being implemented across the country. The same page that is taught in a school in Dhaka city is also taught in a school in a remote area of ​​the country. Now if it is possible to open the school, if we can implement our revised plan, then maybe after December 20, teachers will be able to evaluate the children in their respective schools. Based on that assessment, students will be assigned to the next class. If I can't open the school then ... (auto pass). Will not test.

Secretary Akram-al-Hossain, in response to a question from reporters, said that grading is not an issue if there is no final examination. The headmaster of the school will give a certificate for promotion to the next class i.e. sixth class.
